The KF O gear pumps fitted with magnetic coupling are used in applications where conventional seals do not last long.

The applications can be observed in PUR plants, vacuum plant and refrigerating installations while the magnetic coupling acts as a shaft seal and relays the torque.

The exterior rotor of the magnetic coupling is positioned on the motor shaft while the inner rotor is positioned straight on the pump shaft. The torque is transferred across the exterior and inner rotors using magnetic pressures.

The split case that is used to lock the pump hermetically is found between the two rotors. The magnetic coupling is used when a totally tight seal is needed across the pump chamber and the atmosphere, for instance dosing iso-cyanate contact with contact air that can cause unnecessary firming of the medium when exposed to air.
