Fairchild's T5200 transducer is a fast response I/P, E/P unit controlled by a 4-20mA current in a control loop. Providing reliable signal conversion and pneumatic circuit sections, the T5200 I/P comes with a quick response to input signal changes. This results in a fast loop control and saving process materials. The signal conversion part of the unit accepts 4.20mA current that comes from the control loop. The signal current is applied to the coil, creating a magnetic force which moves the arm of the fixture. 
The pneumatic section operates as a force balance system. A sapphire ball floats inside the nozzle, controling output pressure through the exhaustion of air through an orifice. The sapphire ball acts as a piston that exerts force when balanced against the flexure arm.
